The Joy Seekers Club is a KonMari membership program filled with monthly organizing parties, how-to videos, Create Your Sanctuary workshop video series, and a supportive, members-only Facebook community. 

Here you will find guidance, community, and support along your KonMari journey, so you actually GET. IT. DONE (and have FUN doing it!).

Here are the juicy details of what’s included in your membership:

Super Fun Monthly Clutter Clearout Parties!

  • My signature service! Fun 3-hour Clutter Clearout Parties bring JOY and ACCOUNTABILITY to organizing. You’ll get a mini-lesson, have 2 hours of organizing time, and close by celebrating our wins. It’s the best (and funnest) way to GET.IT.DONE. And you can turn your cameras and mics off during tidying so you don’t have to show anyone your space if you don’t want to! I’ll set you off on the right foot and be in the “Zoom room” the whole time to answer questions.

  • These take place on the second Saturday of the month, from 9 am - 12 noon Pacific. 

  • Clutter Clearout Parties are optional but recommended as they are the cornerstone piece of the membership. Because of the live nature of these sessions and the accountability they provide,  “makeups” are not available. 

Create Your Sanctuary Workshop Video Series 

  • These 9 pre-recorded workshops include a short lesson and Q&A. Example topics include: tackling pesky papers, saving sentimental gems, digital decluttering, guest speakers on feng shui, interior design, preparing to travel abroad, letting go sustainably, emergency preparedness, and more! 

A Members-only, private Facebook Group

  • This is a fantastic place to build community with others on their KonMari journeys. Post before and after pictures, questions, challenges, emotions coming up, we want to hear it all. This private, confidential group is a space to share our wins, voice challenges, and offer support for things coming up. Especially after Clearout Parties, this is a space to celebrate!

Short + Sweet Videos on Each KonMari Category

  • If you’re not as familiar with the KonMari MethodⓇ, know that one thing that makes it unique is that we tidy by CATEGORY not by location.  There are 5 categories in KonMari and we go through them in a particular order, from easiest to hardest, which builds up our confidence in decision making along the way.

  • The 5 categories in KonMari order are:

  1. Clothes

  2. Books

  3. Papers

  4. Komono (miscellaneous) 

  5. Sentimental

  • To offer you an overview of each category before we meet, I have recorded 7 minute videos on each category that you can watch at any time. I recommend watching the video of the category you will be tidying prior to the Clearout Party so you’re ready to dive in.  These videos also serve as great reminders when you’re tidying on your own. 

  • In addition to KonMari Category videos, there is also a Create Your Inspiring Vision video, and storage tips for specific categories. Have other questions? Let me know and I’ll make a video for it!

Membership Agreement

Payment  & Cancellation Policy:

  • You are joining the Joy Seekers Club at the founding member price of $97/month or one $497 payment for 6 months.

  • The Joy Seekers Club has an initial commitment of 3 months, after which it is a month-to-month membership program. After the initial 3 months, membership can be canceled anytime before the following month is billed. 

  • Payments made are non-refundable.

  • When you sign up for the Joy Seekers Club, you will be set up with a recurring monthly payment through Stripe. Payments will be automatically made from the card you sign up with, one month, two months, three months following the first payment, etc.  

  • Upon cancellation, you will have access to Joy Seekers Club services until the day your monthly payment was set to renew. 

Photo Release 

  • By participating in The Joy Filter’s KonMari process, you agree to take and send before and after photos. These may be used for promotional use on The Joy Filter website and social media. Photos will be posted anonymously unless you consent to have your name shared. 

Confidentiality

  • Our work together is confidential. I will not share your name without your consent. I may share client stories but these will be shared anonymously unless I have your consent.

  • Videos and resources in the Resource Library are for your own tidying use only and are not to be shared with those outside of the membership. If you have friends interested in tidying, please invite them to join the membership or share my information with them. 

  • Please hold in confidence things you learn about others’ KonMari journeys during the session, and on the Facebook group. To ensure the privacy of participants, Clutter Clearout Parties will not be recorded.

Disclosure - This Takes Time and Stuff May Come Up!

How long does the KonMari MethodⓇ take to complete?

The fast answer for that is “it depends.” KonMari is a comprehensive system with an intuition-guided decision-making process. If you go through the full KonMari process in your home, you are essentially making a decision for every item you own. This takes time. 

The length of time your tidying process takes depends on: the size of your space, the quantity of your belongings, the amount of time it takes to make decisions, and the amount of time you spend tidying. Although there are things we can do to influence the speed of tidying (like planning more time for it in our calendars) --  it takes as long as it takes. 

The more time you put in, the more you will get out of it. The KonMari MethodⓇ is meant to be done in one fell swoop, once and for all. This does mean a commitment - both to the amount of time that it will take, and the process of going through the categories in the correct order. I suggest KonMari’ing your calendar to create space for tidying  - it will be worth it!

And know that you will find massive benefits for each category you complete, so even if you don’t finish the entire festival, you will still get quite a significant transformation and impact. 

Tidying will impact your energy in different ways. 

Tidying, sorting, and deciding what to keep and what to let go of, can be both physically and emotionally exhausting. You may find yourself drained after sessions and needing time to recover. Throughout this process, be gentle with yourself. Take care of what your body needs, whether that means a walk, a nap, water, and/or eating nourishing foods. You may also find yourself energized to keep going and move through the process, especially as you start to see rewards right away - things getting checked off your list, and physical and mental space cleared.

Emotions may come up. 

As we explore each of our belongings, know that tidying can also bring up emotions we may not even realize we have. This is normal. Allow yourself to experience the emotion and trust that experiencing it will allow you to process through it. Many people find the KonMari MethodⓇ to be helpful in processing through past events, confronting difficult emotions and healing. Be kind to yourself during this time. Journal, drink water, take breaks as needed. 

You may also consider ways to amp up on your personal and professional support during this time. This could look different ways (maybe it’s an assistant to digitize your papers, support from a spouse in watching the kids while you tidy, a therapist or healer to work through emotions that arise, or an amazing outdoor massage - or all of the above!).

What makes the KonMari MethodⓇ different from traditional organizing?

The KonMari Method is different from other methods of organizing in 3 main ways:

  1. Instead of going out and buying containers and fancy new closets, and organize what we have, in the KonMari MethodⓇ we discard first, then organize.

  2. In traditional organizing, you organize by location, which can be frustrating because you can find multiple copies of things in each room, and not remember where everything is. In the KonMari MethodTM, we organize by category, and you bring ALL the things in that category to the same place to go through together. 

  3. There are 5 categories and we go through them in a particular order, from easiest to hardest, which builds up our confidence in decision making along the way.

  4. Of all things, what makes the KonMari MethodⓇ most unique is that you use JOY as the filter. So the KonMari MethodⓇ is much more about getting in touch with your heart and intuition and using that as a guide to create a home and life that brings you joy. The amazing thing about this is that it brings many more magical benefits that you can’t even imagine. Hence, the life changing magic of tidying up is not really about tidying, it’s about changing our lives.
