One of my core values is community -- the connection, compassion, empathy and JOY that can come when we share together.
When I first had the idea to do group organizing sessions on Zoom, I was hesitant. I thought people might prefer to work just with me in private. Potential clients shared they were embarrassed of their clutter, and that the last thing they would want to do is bring it to a group.
But I launched them anyway, just to see. And what I found was something very transformational. I found that actually the opposite was true. People LOVED them. They CRAVED the connection. The community. And the shared learning. KonMari is MAGIC, and in this case, the MAGIC of the group is exactly what we need.
As a Certified KonMari Consultant, I can be a guide and coach for how to let go, declutter and live lives of more joy. I can share tips for how to clear out your closet, but it's not until someone else shares that we can relate. We realize we are not alone. We are all on our own journeys but we are not alone. We support each other on our journeys.
The society we live in makes us feel like we have to do more, buy more, be more. Like we are incapable of taking care of our own lives, but the reality is that we are not meant to live in silos. We have always operated in community. We are not MEANT to do it alone.
Every time I lead a Clutter Clearout Party, I always leave inspired by those who join and the amazing things we can get done when we give ourselves the gift of being supported, and supporting others, in community.
